Play-based learning
At SunRise Kids, learning is hands-on, engaging, and built around play. Our curriculum is designed to nurture curiosity, confidence, and essential life skills.
(6 weeks – 15 months)
Nursery
Our nursery program provides a safe, caring space where babies can grow, explore, and build secure attachments with their educators. Each child follows their own individual routine, ensuring a smooth transition between home and childcare.
With sensory play, tummy time, music, and stories, babies develop early communication, motor skills, and confidence in their surroundings.
We work closely with families to ensure that feeding, sleep, and care routines align with what’s best for each baby, creating a warm and supportive environment.

(15 months – 2.5 years)
Toddlers
Toddlers are natural explorers, full of energy, curiosity, and a growing sense of independence. Our toddler program provides a safe, engaging space where children can develop language, social skills, and confidence through play-based learning and hands-on experiences.
With activities like storytelling, music, art, and group play, toddlers start to build early friendships, express themselves, and develop important life skills. Our educators support this stage by encouraging independence, helping with self-care routines, and guiding toddlers as they navigate their emotions.
Outdoor play is a big part of the day, giving toddlers plenty of space to run, climb, and explore while strengthening their coordination and confidence.

(2.5 – 3 years)
Junior Kindy
At this stage, children are becoming more independent, curious, and eager to engage with the world around them. Our junior kindy program focuses on social development, problem-solving, and hands-on learning, helping children build confidence in their abilities. Through group play, creative activities, and guided learning, children develop early literacy and numeracy skills in a way that feels natural and fun. Educators encourage self-help skills, such as dressing, mealtime independence, and working together with peers. The program balances structured learning with plenty of outdoor play, where children can run, climb, and explore in a safe and stimulating environment.

(3 – 4 years)
Senior Kindy
In senior kindy, children start to develop a deeper understanding of the world around them. Their natural curiosity and creativity are encouraged through play-based learning, group discussions, and hands-on activities that build early literacy, numeracy, and problem-solving skills. At this stage, children ask more questions, form strong friendships, and gain confidence in expressing themselves. Educators guide them through activities that develop independence, from self-care routines to working together on projects. With a mix of structured learning and free play, children have plenty of opportunities to explore their interests, whether it’s through music, art, storytelling, or outdoor adventures.

(4 – 5 years)
Kindergarten
Our kindergarten program prepares children for school with a structured, play-based learning approach guided by a bachelor-qualified teacher. Designed in line with the Queensland Kindergarten Learning Guideline (QKLG), the program helps children develop the confidence, independence, and essential skills they need for a successful transition to prep. Children engage in a mix of intentional teaching, group activities, and hands-on exploration that strengthens their literacy, numeracy, problem-solving, and social skills. Educators encourage children to ask questions, think critically, and work together, building their ability to communicate and collaborate in a classroom environment. With a focus on school readiness, the program introduces structured routines while keeping learning fun and engaging. Activities like early writing, number recognition, science experiments, and creative arts make learning exciting while fostering curiosity.

Extra activities
Our extra activities keep children engaged, active, and excited to explore new interests. From music and movement to sports, language lessons, and creative arts, these programs add variety to each day while supporting children’s social, physical, and cognitive development.
