Frequently Asked Questions

What is CCS?

The Child Care Subsidy is a benefit provided by the Commonwealth Government to reduce the amount of your total childcare fees. To be eligible you must meet certain criteria including by not limited to your child attending an approved childcare service and meeting the immunisation requirements set out by the Australian Department of Human Services.

Are nutritious meals provided?

Yes!  We serve nutritious meals for breakfast, morning tea, lunch, afternoon tea and a late afternoon snack.  All food provided is child friendly and sourced from the highest quality and freshest ingredients.  In addition to Centre cooked meals, some hot meals are provided by childcare food provider specialists.  These meals have been snap frozen to retain all their nutrients, natural colour and flavour.

We take special care to provide food for children with allergies or special dietary needs such as wheat free, gluten free, dairy free, egg free, lactose free and vegetarian.

Are your staff qualified?

Yes!  We employ a range of qualified staff from University trained Teachers who hold a Bachelor of Education (Early Childhood), TAFE graduates holding a Diploma, Certificate 3 or Certificate 2 in Children’s Services to Trainees who are working toward a recognised qualification.  All trainees work closely under the supervision of our Operations Manager and Centre Directors.  In addition, our staff are encouraged to participate in professional development in order to broaden and upgrade their skills.

All of our staff hold a suitability card for working with children, current first aid, CPR, asthma and anaphylaxis certification.

Do you provide an approved Kindergarten Program?

Yes.  Sunrise Kids are an approved kindergarten program provider.  The learning programs we deliver align with the Queensland Kindergarten Learning Guideline accredited by the Queensland Studies Authority.

Our learning programs provide children the time, space and opportunity to interact, experience and explore in a secure environment while discovering and developing their unique skills, knowledge and abilities.   Our early childhood development incorporates social, emotional, physical, cognitive, language, numeracy and aesthetic development of our children.

At SunRise Kids Early Education and Care we believe that by providing a child Centred learning environment with a balance of support and challenge where children are encouraged to learn through play, that they will develop a joy of learning to carry forward through life.

Can I bring my child if they are unwell?

If you suspect your child is unwell please consider the following prior to bringing your child to the Centre:

Many children with a mild illness, such as a cold, can attend child care without causing harm to themselves or other children.  There are some instances where your child must not attend the Centre to reduce the spread of infectious disease.  Refer to the Qld Health Time Out information (www.health.qld.gov.au) for a list of medical conditions and the recommended exclusion periods.
