Early childhood education built on care, play and connection
For over 15 years, our Upper Mt Gravatt centre has supported local families with early learning that feels warm, welcoming and personal. As a family-owned service, we place meaningful relationships at the centre of what we do, while proudly meeting the standards set out under the National Quality Framework. We take the time to get to know each child and their family, with many growing with us from their first days in nursery through to school age.
Our play-based programs are shaped around connection, curiosity and giving children the space to learn in ways that feel natural to them. From day one, children are welcomed by familiar faces and supported by educators who know their routines, interests and personalities. We’re proud to be part of the Mt Gravatt local community and to create a place where children and families feel comfortable, included and at home.
Child care, pre-kindy, preschool and kindergarten in Mt Gravatt
Our Mt Gravatt child care centre provides a warm, community-focused environment where children aged 6 weeks to 5 years can explore, develop independence, and build confidence through play-based learning. Our programs are shaped around your child’s interests and follow the Early Years Learning Framework and Queensland Kindergarten curriculum, so children leave us genuinely ready for school, whatever primary school they’re headed to next.
Our educators work closely with families to create a space where children develop essential skills, form friendships, and gain a love of learning. With large play areas, four dedicated rooms, and a strong focus on play based learning, we help children thrive in their early years, all right in the heart of the community and close to home.
A nurturing place to learn & grow
The early years shape so much of who we become, and we know how quickly children grow during this time. That’s why all the educators at our Mount Gravatt centre are dedicated to creating a stimulating environment that encourages children to explore, ask questions and build confidence at their own pace, all within a five-minute drive of Westfield Mount Gravatt for busy local parents juggling school runs and errands.
Children learn best when they’re interested in what they’re doing, so we give them plenty of opportunities to play, explore, create and figure things out for themselves. Along the way, they build new skills, grow in independence and develop a real enjoyment of learning.

Early childhood education for every stage of growth
At SunRise Kids Mt Gravatt, we offer age-specific learning programs designed to support each stage of early childhood development. Our play-based learning approach ensures children learn naturally through exploration, problem-solving, and real-world experiences.
Nursery
6 weeks to 15 months
Our nursery room is a calm, caring space where your baby is gently supported through their earliest milestones. We follow your child’s individual routine and nurture their development through sensory play, songs and more. For this age group, we focus on helping little ones feel safe, secure and loved, just like they would at home.
Toddlers
15 months - 2.5 years
Life is full of wonder in the toddler years, and we love seeing that energy come to life. In this room, your child will enjoy age-appropriate activities that spark curiosity and support communication, movement and independence. There’s always so much fun to be had as toddlers make friends, explore their surroundings and grow their confidence through play.
Pre-Kindy
2.5 years - 3 years
At this stage, children are starting to ask big questions and develop strong personalities. Our Pre-Kindy program encourages them to express themselves, build friendships and try new things in a welcoming, caring environment. With gentle guidance from our educators, your child will explore early learning concepts in a way that aligns with the National Quality Standard.
Kindergarten
3 years - 5 years Our kindergarten kids are supported by inspired educators who guide them through the Government-approved Kindergarten Program. Through storytelling, science, numbers and many natural play experiences, we help prepare children for the transition to school. It’s a fun, engaging space where children are encouraged to be curious, kind and capable — all while developing a love of learning that lasts well beyond the early years.

Flexible hours for busy families

The same familiar faces, year after year
Low educator turnover means children are cared for by people who know them well and understand their routines, personalities and needs. As a family-owned centre, we value continuity and long-term relationships across our team and centre community.

How do you keep children safe throughout the day?
Safety comes before everything else. Every child is signed in and out by an authorised adult only, entry to the centre is restricted, and every room is supervised by screened educators at ratios that meet or exceed the National Quality Standard. They may be simple measures, but they’re an important part of creating a safe, well-run centre.
How do you handle allergies, medical needs or illness?
We record every child’s individual health and dietary needs before their first day and build our meal planning and medication protocols around them. If anything comes up during the day, whether it’s a temperature, a fall or an allergic reaction, you’ll hear from us straight away, not at pick-up.
Do you offer a kindergarten program?
Yes. Our Mount Gravatt kindergarten program is designed to help children prepare for the transition to Prep through structured, play-based learning led by a bachelor-qualified teacher. The program follows the Queensland Kindergarten Learning Guideline (QKLG) and gives children opportunities to build confidence, independence, communication, early literacy, numeracy, problem-solving and social skills.
Throughout the week, children take part in intentional teaching, group activities and hands-on experiences such as early writing, number recognition, science experiments and creative arts. We also introduce classroom routines and encourage children to ask questions, work with others and become more comfortable learning independently, helping them feel ready for the next step into school.
How will you help my child settle in?
We take settling-in slowly, with visits before your child’s official start date so they and their educators build familiarity first. In the nursery especially, we mirror your child’s home routine as closely as we can, so the transition feels gentle rather than sudden, for both of you.
Can I call or drop in to check on my child during the day?
Yes, always. We know the first few weeks can be harder on parents than on kids. Call whenever you need to, and if you want to pop in and see how your child is settling, you’re welcome to.
What subsidies can reduce what I pay?
Most families are eligible for the Child Care Subsidy (CCS), and eligible 4-year-olds can access up to 15 hours a week of Queensland Kindergarten Funding. Give us a call, and we’ll talk you through what you’re likely to be eligible for before you commit to anything.
