Our vision for reconciliation
Our vision for reconciliation is for our Sunrise Kids community to acknowledge and respect the cultures and contributions to Australia of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples.
As educators we aspire to do this by supporting our community to develop an understanding and knowledge of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander cultural heritage and continuing contributions.
Acknowledgement of Country
Sunrise Kids Early Education and Care Kallangur acknowledges Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples as the Traditional Custodians of Lands across Australia, and acknowledge those Traditional Custodians of the Land on which we work and play.
Each day we take a moment to remember the children and families who have lived, played and walked on this Land across generations, and pay our respects to Elders past and present. We would also like to extend that respect to all Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people who visit our centre.
Reconciliation Australia acknowledges and pays respect to the past, present and future Traditional Custodians and Elders of this nation and the continuation of cultural, spiritual and educational practices of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples.Reconciliation Australia was established in 2001 and is the lead body for reconciliation in the nation. We are an independent not-for-profit organisation that promotes and facilitates reconciliation by building relationships, respect and trust between the wider Australian community and Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples.
Our vision of national reconciliation is based on five critical dimensions: race relations, equality and equity, institutional integrity, unity and historical acceptance. These five dimensions do not exist in isolation; they are inter-related and Australia can only achieve full reconciliation if we progress in all five.
